Amara Osei

Co-founder · CEO

Seattle, WA · she/her

Email  ·  LinkedIn

Amara grew up in Tacoma watching container cranes from her grandmother’s porch, which she insists is a normal childhood hobby. She spent twelve years in freight forwarding, ending as Director of Ocean Operations at Halvorsen Global, where she was responsible for several thousand containers at any given moment and, more famously, for a 40-tab spreadsheet titled WHERE IS IT.xlsx.

That spreadsheet is the reason Windrose exists. After one Tuesday spent reconstructing a single reefer’s journey from six carrier portals and a fax, she decided the industry’s visibility problem wasn’t a data problem — it was a legibility problem. She met Jonas at a supply-chain meetup in 2021, sketched the first board on a coffee-shop napkin, and incorporated Windrose the following spring.

Today she runs the company: customers, hiring, fundraising, and a weekly support shift she refuses to give up. Internally her title is “chief where-is-it officer.” She still has the napkin.
